Photos or Memories: which app for what?

Your WebOké Nextcloud includes two apps for photos and videos: Photos and Memories. They show the same photos from your Files, but in a different way. You can use both; nothing is duplicated and nothing is copied.

Memories

Open Memories from the app menu. The first time, the app asks which folder should be the basis of your timeline. Click Click here to start (1) and choose the folder where your photos are stored, for example the folder your phone automatically uploads them to. If you choose the root folder, you'll see all the photos from your entire Nextcloud. You can change this later in the Memories settings.

After that, you'll see all your photos on the Timeline (1), the newest at the top, grouped by day. At the top are photos taken exactly a year or longer ago on this day, such as the little bird from a year ago below. On the left, you'll also find Folders (2), Albums (3), Map (4), Explore, Favourites, Archive and Tags. Use the search field at the top right (5) to search your photos.

Tip: both apps sort by the date the photo was taken, as recorded in the photo itself. If photos appear on the wrong day, Map and location: adjusting the date of a photo explains how to fix that.

Photos from your phone

Let your phone automatically upload new photos with the Nextcloud app. They'll then appear automatically in Photos and Memories. See Photos from your phone to your Nextcloud.
